This isn’t business for us. It’s personal.

We’re fortunate to be in an industry where beautiful and inspiring work gets produced by pioneering creatives every day. And we give each other awards for it.

But once in a while, someone comes along and shows us how it’s really done. Acts of kindness, strength and indomitable spirit that leave the most hardened of us in bits.

That’s Pete McCleave, and his project 10,000 Donors.

There are so many amazing causes out there, but this one was the easiest decision we’ve ever made. Why? Because, to be blunt, Pete’s our mate and we want to save his life. He’s a dad, a great laugh, a selfless fundraiser and an ultramarathon-running superhero. But now Superman needs a little help from us mere mortals.

Having been diagnosed with myeloma, an incurable blood cancer, he was given just seven years to live – unless he could find a stem cell donor. Three years and over 85,000 donor registrations later, he’s still striving to find his perfect match. But he’s already found tens of thousands that can give others a future.

With only 2% of the UK population registered to donate stem cells, it’s time to amplify Pete’s message and get people to register. The test is a quick, painless cheek swab, and could save one of the many lives where hope dwindles every day.

Will you swab to save a life? If you will, register here.

Everyone at Woven has joined the stem cell register.

There are fewer than 30 million people on the global stem cell register. That’s 0.4% of the world’s population. Saving the lives of people with previously incurable conditions isn’t a fantasy, it’s just a numbers game. So let’s win it.

Choose your country here, request a swab kit, post it back. Done.

We can do this. We are doing this.

But we don’t just want you for your swab. We want you for your clout.

You wouldn’t think twice about organising a company blood drive, so please do the same for the stem cell register. Rally your social networks. Ask your friends. Abuse your LinkedIn contact list into doing something truly good. Bring it up whenever you can.

You could even get Pete to tell his inspirational story in person. By the end of it, there’ll be a tear in every eye, fire in every belly —and hopefully a swab in every cheek.

This is much bigger than just us. Make it even bigger than you too.

Diversity matters.

Myeloma doesn’t discriminate, and neither do countless other disorders. Which means we need as much genetic diversity on the stem cell register as possible.

Please encourage anyone you know to register. After all, if you’re willing to take a cheek swab to discover that you’re a fifth Ghanaian, why not use that information —and that same simple process— to potentially save a life?

Ready to register? We won't stop asking. Ready to register?

We’re not just proud to support 10,000 Donors, we’re inspired — and motivated.

Bet you hadn’t even thought about stem cell donation today. We can’t stop thinking about it.

Together, we can make the process as universal as blood or organ donation. Whether you run a testing drive in your organisation, take your #swabbingselfie for Instagram, or scream through a megaphone on the train station platform, getting the word out is crucial.

Your swab could save a life. Please don’t wait.
